Things that annoy me…

Poor website design that obviously hasn’t been tested by the people who created it. Where are my tickets in relation to the stage? Dunno – you have to pick from a list, but which do I pick? Obviously Kylie won’t be using the same layout as the WWE, but what about the rest of them? Surely they know what layout they will be using, so presumably they have the info stored somewhere. So put the info automatically on the page! It’s not that hard!

While I am working on a product then any niggling issues are resolved at the time and the specs updated to reflect this (and commentary about why I made the changes): If it annoys me then it will annoy 50% of the people who use the site.

I feel I should write something…

…but the overwhelming amount of blog-spam I have to wade through on a daily basis makes me almost lose the will to live. I’ve got myself a captcha system for WordPress and will try and get round to installing it sometime soon.

UPDATE: I am now running it – spammers meat your death (ho ho ho).

Pirates of the Caribbean

Just watched Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End: It’s not bad. Why isn’t it as good as the song and dance (and marketing) made it out to be? Because it was too damn long.

By the end I was bored of seeing Jonny Depp swinging around yet more rigging. I was bored of the multiple double crossings that was happening because they are “pirates – yarr”. And I was bored of far too much CGI.

Over 2 and half hours is too long for a throw-away franchise movie like the PotC movies are.

With the main characters being killed off at the rate of about 1 every half hour I thought this would be the last one, but no, they left it open for a 4th…
